Cafe tables are one of the most important items of cafe furniture that you’ll need to buy and since your customers will be dining at these tables and drinking their cups of coffee, it’s important that your tables make a good first impression and represent you in the correct light.

Once you’ve planned your seating area you’re ready to start choosing your cafe furniture but before splurging your cash why not take a quick look below at our guide to the various types of table bases.

Usually (but not always) cafe tables are purchased as two separate items, the top and the base allowing you to mix and match in order to get just the type of cafe table that you’re looking for. At Cafe Solutions as well as our table packages which contain both a table top and a base, we also have a wide range of table bases to choose from, so let’s take a closer look.

Cast iron table bases

These table bases are typically more decorative and are used to give a traditional vibe to your cafe or bistro. Often they’re single column but they can be fairly ornamental and give a classic look.

Aluminium table bases

These are the most common forms of table base and are a great favourite with cafe owners since they can be used outside. They’re lightweight and easy to move around as well as being weather proof and resistant to rust. Usually they’re available in a silver or matte black finish depending on whether you’re seeking a modern or traditional look to your table.

Twin bases

These are made from aluminium and are used to support the larger sizes of commercial dining table. Suitable for indoor and outdoor use, they fix easily to the underside of a large table top using cross style brackets.

Bolt in table base

These offer a permanent solution to table planning since as the name suggests, the single column pedestal is bolted into the ground and covered with a plate. They’re ideal for use where space is limited since cafe chairs an be pushed right beneath the table when not in use, and they also allow for better mobility access.

Flat Technology table bases

These table bases come in a variety of styles including a foldable base and feature a specialist built in technology which automatically levels the table legs so that your cafe tables do not wobble when they’re on uneven ground. They also align a bank of table tops together with ease.

Dry bar bases

These are similar to cafe table bases with the difference being that the central pole is much longer, creating a table that stands tall and can be paired with tall bar stools. Great for placing in corners and for adding a new dimension in height.

Tolix table bases

Finally, we have a selection of Tolix table bases made from steel with a powder coating. These are designed to match our replica Tolix chairs and stools and work really well in an industrial themed venue.
