How To Use Copper In Your Café’s Interior

With the increasing amount of new coffee shops and cafes all vying to get their own slice of the action, there’s never been a more important time to differentiate your café from those of your competitors and make it stand out for all the right reasons. Customers want new experiences not just from food and drink, but also from their venues.

Copper remains one of the most popular design trends and with its warm hue it works well in a variety of modern and traditional landscapes. It’s also very durable which makes it a particularly good choice for commercial environments. What’s more as it ages copper just goes on looking better which makes it a great investment. Here’s a look at how this popular trend could be used in your café.

Bars and counters

Copper is stylish and, as mentioned above, very durable which means that it works well as a material for bar counters. It’s easy to clean and can also withstand high temperatures so it’s perfect for restaurants, cafes, and bars. You don’t even have to use copper for the entire bar counter, instead you could look at facing the front surfaces with copper, or just the counter tops. You might want to consider the finish, however, since although a mirror finish looks stunning it also shows up fingerprints and all sorts of other marks. One solution is to opt for a look that is worn, etched, or hammered.

Wall panelling

Copper is exceptionally versatile and can be used to panel your walls to totally transform the interior of your establishment. If you’re trying to be more high end then a clean copper finish which is either rippled or wavy just oozes with style and sophistication. A more industrial look can be achieved by using panels of copper fitted together in the style of patchwork or tiles. Another good idea is to add a light from below or above which gives a beautiful warm ambience that’s especially suited to small bistros.

Lighting and accessories

This is one of the easiest ways to incorporate copper into your venue’s interior and also the simplest thing to change as trends go out of fashion. Pendant lights are one of the most popular choices of light for cafes and restaurants and with so many styles to choose from it’s easy to go down the modern or traditional route. Some venues are using copper toned plant pots and hanging baskets which give a wonderful contrast of colour and texture.
