Our tall stools have a 76cm (760mm) seat height, the standard bar height for high bar tables, bar counters and hospitality fit outs. You will find over 50 tall stools here in steel, aluminium, timber and polypropylene, including backless designs, stools with backrests and stackable models. Most carry a commercial static seat load up to 250kg, so they hold up to daily use in cafes, bars and restaurants.

Tall stool height guide
Choosing the right stool height keeps guests comfortable and your counter looking balanced. As a general rule, allow 25 to 30cm between the seat and the underside of the counter.
- Bar height counters (105 to 110cm): choose 76cm tall stools.
- Standard counter height (90 to 100cm): choose 65 to 66cm counter stools.
- Kitchen island (85 to 90cm): choose 60 to 65cm stools.
For comfortable spacing, allow around 55 to 60cm of width per stool. A 180cm counter seats three to four stools comfortably.
Backrest, swivel and material options
- With or without a backrest: backless stools tuck fully under the counter and suit high turnover cafes, while stools with backs add support for longer seating.
- Fixed or swivel: fixed stools are the sturdiest choice for busy venues, while swivel stools make it easier for guests to get in and out.
- Material: stainless steel and powder coated steel handle heavy commercial use, polypropylene suits indoor and outdoor areas, and timber adds warmth for relaxed settings.

What is the difference between counter height and bar height stools?
Bar height stools sit around 76cm and pair with counters of 105 to 110cm. Counter height stools sit around 65cm and pair with counters of 90 to 100cm. Measure your counter first, then allow 25 to 30cm between the seat and the counter.
